Divisional Synergies
There is power in the synergies among our divisions. United under a strategic umbrella, we bring all our divisional leaders together to foster collaboration, rapidly ideate and develop solutions. This ensures our efforts integrate seamlessly to meet your needs. The result is streamlined service delivery, faster production cycles, shorter lead times and ultimately cost savings, enhancing our overall efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Here’s how our divisions, our customer and a fellow John Deere distributor collaborated to develop an innovative solution for tackling windblown waste collection.
The Terramac crawler
Terramac’s RT6 carrier model serves as the chassis for the debris collection system. With its compact size and low ground pressure, it easily navigates the challenging and environmentally sensitive landfill terrain. Its seamless integration with the debris collection system was crucial for both the unit’s stability during collection and transportation, as well as its overall success.
The John Deere engine serviced by CK Power
A John Deere engine powers the debris collection system. Though originally supplied outside of CK Power’s distribution territory, the original distributor enlisted our extensive after-market services when the prototype developed an engine issue. Our CK Power team collaborated with them, the customer and the OEM to troubleshoot the issue. Together, we provided a rapid solution that minimized downtime and pprevented the issue from happening again during regular production.
The Hayes coupling
A durable Hayes coupling connects the RT6 carrier’s engine and hydraulic pumps. This meticulously engineered component ensures efficient power transfer and minimal wear, which is critical for maintaining operational efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.
The sheet metal from CM&W
Consolidated Machine & Welding ensured the sheet metal enclosure of the debris collection system integrated with the crawler carrier seamlessly. With its quality fit and finish, this enclosure protects critical components from loose debris and the elements for equipment durability and longevity.
The maintenance from RMPT
As repairs and maintenance needs arise, Rocky Mountain Powertrain is on call to quickly and effectively service both the carrier, as well as the attached debris unit. Our technicians’ skills and all the shared knowledge from our sister divisions’ involvement means maintenance will happen with as little downtime as possible.

Insights from our extended family
Our company culture and dedicated people drive our success. So, whether you collaborate with one division or all five, you become more than a partner — you become family. But don’t take our word for it; hear it from them.
“I always favor the suppliers where I have a personal relationship with them. It’s just hard to build relationships when you’re dealing with different people every year or two. CK, just like us, being family owned, there’s consistency with the family.”
Jay Allen
CEO and owner
Allen Engineering
“When you have a manufacturer like CK Power that is as genuinely customer centric as we are, that makes it easier to do business. They’re committed to doing what’s right by the customer, and that’s not always in good situations. There’s challenging situations where they’ve stepped up. I mean, we had a failure caused by the customer. But they said, ‘Look, big picture here, this is a large customer of ROMCO’s, a large consumer of the CK Power product line and we’re going to take care of this.’”
Gable Sprague
Division manager
ROMCO Power Systems
“I think the most important thing is working with a company that I can trust. We trust not just the leadership at CK Power, but everyone all the way down at the other divisions, too. I could call somebody from Terramac for a warranty issue, and I know I’ll get the same answer I would from the other divisions. It makes a seamless experience for us.”
Aaron Dorgan
VP of rental and inventory

A legacy of serving with integrity and passion
CK Power Family of Companies is a proud multi-generation, family-owned business with roots dating back to 1929. Over the years, we’ve evolved through a series of mergers and acquisitions to stay ahead of the times and meet our customers’ ever-changing needs, always delivering trusted products, services and aftermarket support. Below are some impactful highlights from our journey, though they only scratch the surface of our rich history.
1929
Western Machinery Company kicked things off, opening its doors as a distributor of power transmission equipment and setting the stage for what would become CK Power Family of Companies.
1976
A big year for us! This is when Tom E. Costello founded CK Power, marking the Costello family’s official entry into the business. We also became the exclusive distributor for Ford, John Deere, Kubota and Kohler generators, setting the foundation for the company’s growth and success.
1991
John Costello, second generation, stepped into the role of president and chief operating officer of CK Power. Nine years into his leadership, he finalized the acquisition that unified all the history and expertise under John Costello and the CK Power name.
2023
John Costello stepped back to chairman, passing the torch to his sons, JJ, Clayton and Clark Costello. Well-known to many of our customers, these hands-on co-CEOs are deeply involved in every aspect of the business. Under their leadership and Pops’ guidance, we continue our tradition of excellence, staying true to our roots while driving the CK Power Family of Companies forward.
